Mandatory Warden Welcome Talk

Monday 21 September, 5.30pm - 7pm

Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre - Followed by BBQ at Hepworth Lodge

Entry is via the front of the lecture theatre where there is level access into the room.

There are two waiting spaces for wheelchairs with swing-out adjustable resting surfaces.

Seating is tiered and fixed and there are arm rests on the front row of chairs. An infrared assistive listening system is fitted in this room.

Accessibility directions: Go through the wheelchair side entrance, through two sets of double doors, the Rupert Beckett lecture theatre is just on your right.

Warden Welcome Talk:

This mandatory talk should be attended by all residents.

This talk will include key information about your halls & safety in your halls, and you will have a chance to get to know your warden.

You must stay for the duration of the talk but you are welcome to leave after.

This event will involve free BBQ food, with a range of vegan and meat options.

BBQ:

You will have a chance to socialise with your residents.

You are free to drop in and leave at any time but please note the food will be first come first served.

Welcome BBQ and Ice Cream Truck

Monday 14 September, 5pm - 7pm

Hepworth Lodge Courtyard

This event will involve free BBQ food, with a range of vegan and meat options. We will also have an ice cream truck.

You will have a chance to socialise with your residents.

You are free to drop in and leave at any time but please note the food will be first come first served.

Junkyard Golf

Thursday 17 September, 5.30pm - 9pm

Meet at Hepworth Lodge Reception at 5:30pm - walk to Junkyard Golf together to play mini golf.

Bring Student ID & Tickets Required.

Line Dancing

Wednesday 23 September, 7.30pm - 10pm

Pyramid Theatre, Leeds University Union - Tickets Required

Entry to the venue: There is step-free access to Pyramid Theatre. There are two lift options to reach the first basement floor (near Co-op supermarket).

Lift 1 can be found opposite the Refectory. This lift goes to floor -1. From there, the next lift is located at the end of the corridor, past the food vendors, Co-op and the Scarlet and Mango studios.

This lift can then be used to get to Pyramid Canteen (floor -2) and Pyramid Theatre (floor -3).

Lift 2 is located through the doors to the left of the main Terrace entrance and then by turning right once you're through those doors.

From there, the next lift is located at the end of the corridor, past the food vendors, Co-op and the Scarlet and Mango studios. This lift can then be used to get to Pyramid Canteen (floor -2) and Pyramid Theatre (floor -3).

Accessible toilet: located at the back right hand side of Pyramid Canteen, on the upper level. There is no toilet available in the theatre. The bar is also located on the upper level. This can be accessed via a ramp.

Seating: The accessible seating area in Pyramid Theatre for wheelchair users is on the left-hand side of the entrance. This can hold 2-3 wheelchairs.

Quiet room if needed: Meeting room 1, accessible by a lift outside Riley Smith Theatre.

We will be joined by specialist line dancers, who will teach you how to line dance. There will be drinks at this event.
