I love cooking, discovering new food spots around Leeds, and trying different fitness classes at the Edge. I also enjoy exchanging stories with others about the food and cultures from different parts of the world.
Having lived at St. Mark’s for three years, I hope to be a friendly face that residents feel comfortable coming to when they need help or simply want someone to talk to. I am always happy to listen, offer reassurance, or guide them towards the right support. I also hope to help make St. Mark’s a welcoming community where people from different backgrounds and cultures feel comfortable, included and at home.
My top tip is not to put too much pressure on yourself at the beginning. Give yourself time to settle in and find your own rhythm. At the same time, try to get involved in the events and activities organised by your accommodation, as they are a great way to meet new people and feel more connected to the halls community. The day trips are especially worth joining if you would like to explore nearby cities, don’t miss out!

As an RLA I support students in university halls by providing wellbeing guidance, crisis response, and signposting to specialist support services. Built trusting relationships through active listening and inclusive communication, helping students navigate academic, social, and personal challenges while encouraging independence and resilience. Contributed to community-building initiatives that promoted student engagement, belonging, and a positive living and learning environment.
Introduce yourself to your flatmates early and keep communication open. It makes sharing a living space much easier and more enjoyable!
