Do you enjoy some background noise, some historical architecture or maybe some group work spaces? We're here to bring some great study spots so you can optimise your studying to the fullest. 

First up, the Libraries: 

Laidlaw 

Open 24/7

The Laidlaw Library is an undergraduate-focused space offering core texts, the High Demand Collection, and academic support through Skills@Library.

It provides 900 study spaces, group rooms, computers, a café, and accessible facilities, perfect for helping you to meet those urgent deadlines.

Edward Boyle 

Open 24/7

The Edward Boyle Library contains the research collections for science, engineering and social sciences, and the level 13 Research Hub for staff and postgraduates.

There are spaces for individual silent study and bookable group spaces and accessible student studies.

Brotherton Library

For a more traditional and tranquil study space, visit the Brotherton Library.

With arts, cultural industries, humanities, languages and performing arts collections, and the Cultural Collections Brotherton Research Centre, this is a great place to live your studycore dreams.

Health Sciences Library

Don't be fooled, just because it says 'Health Sciences' doesn't mean it excludes other subjects!

Regardless of what you study, you can visit this specialist library with plenty of silent study space and a group study areas to work on assignments or prep for upcoming exams.

Cafes around campus 

If the library isn't for you, why not visit a café on campus to get your studying in? 

Affine

Located at the heart of the innovation hub, the contemporary space provides a welcoming environment. You can grab a drink or enjoy deli style sandwiches and salads whilst you study.

Esther Simpson

Located in the new Esther Simpson building on the edge of Woodhouse Moor, the café is modern and relaxed, serving speciality coffee from Cafeology.

1915 is a relaxed, cosy café serving hot drinks and cakes. With regularly updated specials, you can try something new throughout the year.

Fuse 

This café is a nice quiet spot in the Engineering buildings with plenty of space to do focus work away from the hustle and bustle of campus life.

With a focus on healthy food, this is a great spot to study whilst trying new foods that boost your energy levels.
