Best-kept secrets on campus

Whether you're looking for inspiration, relaxation, or just a change of scenery, these unique spots on campus are some of our favourite hidden gems that are the best-kept secrets on campus.

Affine

Over at Nexus, Affine Café is a cosy and calm spot to grab your next caffeine fix. It’s a beautifully designed space, ideal for recharging between lectures, enjoying a coffee in your study session, or just catching up with your friends.

Typically it’s a quieter space, an escape from the hustle and bustle of campus life, and a welcoming environment to relax and unwind.

Helix

Over at EC Stoner, Helix is a hub for innovation and creativity. This collaborative workspace offers students a place to brainstorm ideas, work on projects, or just try something new!

It’s kitted out with state-of-the-art facilities including 3D printers, laser cutters, VR headsets, podcasting suites, and filming studios and is even home to the UK’s only Omnideck! Visit the Helix site to learn more, and head to their Eventbrite page to find out about their upcoming taster sessions!

St George’s Field

Take a breather and immerse yourself in nature at St George's Field. This hidden green space offers a chilled-out retreat for students looking for a break from their busy schedules.

Whether you fancy a quick stroll, a picnic with friends, or just somewhere to take five minutes for yourself, St George's Field is the perfect place.

Crossroads

In LUU, Crossroads is a multi-functional entertainment lounge – your space to play, watch, read, and de-stress.

Equipped with gaming computers, board games, cards and comics, and a cosy reading area, come together with students from all walks of life to connect, relax and have fun. It is open to all students between 11 am – 5 pm and can be booked by clubs and societies in the evenings.

Sustainability Garden

Tucked away by the Roger Stevens building, the serene Sustainability Garden is a great example of a functioning ecosystem.

With sunny days hopefully ahead, relax and enjoy the greenery in another great space on campus. If you fancy a read, there is a little free library there, perfect for donating your old titles and grabbing a book on-the-go.
