Christmas Markets
Leeds’ Christmas Market is back for 2024, running from November 22 to December 22. This year, the market is concentrated across two central locations: Millennium Square and City Square by the train station, making it easier to explore all the festive offerings without traveling far. Offering a variety of festive treats to try, such as bratwursts, mulled wine, Yorkshire pudding wraps and gingerbread, and a wide selection of unique and handmade gift ideas, this market is sure to get you in the spirit of things!
Festive Shows at the Theatre
As always, the Winter season is packed with spectacular performances across Leeds’ theatres and venues. There’s classic British pantomimes including Jack and the Beanstalk at City Varieties and Beauty and the Beast at Carriageworks, Mr Snow and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at Leeds Playhouse, and festive performance of A Christmas Carol from Northern Ballet.
Cosy Tipis
If you need a break from the cold, come in and get cosy at one of the city's pop-up tipis. At Thor’s Tipi Bar, you can sip hot chocolate, mulled cider, or craft ales by the warmth of an open fire, and are perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a relaxed evening after a day out in the city.
Ice Skating
Nothing says winter like gliding across an ice rink! Leeds features pop-up outdoor ice skating rinks that are perfect for all skill levels. These rinks are a fantastic way to embrace the season, whether you’re a pro skater or just there for a laugh.
