I love charity shops so much anything for under a fiver that's cute or on vinted is where i'm always at! Beyond that my interests are travelling and especially getting to know the locals as well as geo-politics and poetry!

I would describe my role as being a first responder as you are available overnight and the job is so unpredictable at times. It's normally things like noise complaints and other times it feels really random which makes the job interesting. I do enjoy the job as I get to support other students who may need some reassurance especially when first climatising to University.

Establish a cleaning rota from the first week and rules about noise etc! It saves yourself from the awkwardness later on. Be considerate of others example if I have exams I would keep some of my dishes in my room instead of leaving them out etc. There's 40,000 people at university if you aren't best friends with your flatmates it's ok, you'll definitely meet people you will like! Even if you're an extrovert like me its natural for your socially battery to be drained in semester one, so take a break there will always be an event!

Get to know the staff you're working with at reception, as it's likely you'll be with then for a few years, so it's great building that relationship.
