A new student commuter lounge has opened on Level 9 in the EC Stoner Building, giving you a dedicated space to study, relax and recharge between lectures.
Developed in direct response to student feedback, the space has been created for commuter students without access to accommodation or facilities in Leeds.
This new lounge provides a place on campus for you to feel at home throughout the day.
Created for comfort, flexibility and community
The lounge provides a range of useful equipment to make sure you feel comfortable at University, including:
- A fully equipped kitchen area, complete with microwaves, a fridge freezer and food prep space, making it easier for you to eat, save money and spend more time on campus.
- Work benches with integrated planting provide space for focused study, while a central seating area encourages collaboration and group work. Softer seating, including bean bags, offers a place for students to unwind between sessions.
- A mix of new furniture creates flexible spaces for studying, socialising and relaxing, with café-style benches for dining and fully equipped workstations with plug sockets for laptops and devices.
- A soft, neutral palette with subtle pops of colour and biophilic wall features creates a calm, welcoming environment – a vibrant space designed to help you feel comfortable, connected and at ease on campus.
