We've all been there - you leave your room, maybe it's for a quick run to the shops for that final ingredient you need or you're late to a lecture and when you come back you go to find your key and... it's not there. That's right - we're talking about accidently locking yourself out of your room!
Here's a few tips to make remembering your keys a bit easier:
Keep your key on a lanyard
A lanyard is a great way to keep track of a key. Whether you keep it in your pocket, bag or wear it around your neck, the strap makes it easier to keep an eye on where your key is.
If you're a fashion forward individuals you can even look for lanyards in different, patterns, and designs that make it more personal and identifiable if lost.
Have a dedicated space in your room for your keys
Create a routine where you put your keys in the same place every time you come into your room.
Have a hanging place or a bowl where you can put the key and start to add it into your routine whenever you go out. For example, it might look like: put shoes on, check you have your phone, your money and then your key.
If it's in the same place every time, you'll be less likely to forget it because it will become natural to check the area before you leave.
