Let us know how your time in halls is going so far

Making sure you have an amazing time whilst living in student accommodation is really important to us. We want halls to live up to your expectations and ensure that where you live is helping to make your experience at Leeds a rewarding one.

We’re currently running our accommodation satisfaction survey until Friday 6 December and would really appreciate you filling it in here! This is a nationally organised survey and allows us to compare how we're doing versus other student accommodation providers.

It should only take a few minutes and it’s your chance to tell us what we’re doing well and what we might need to improve. If that’s not incentive enough, we’re also giving away one £100 Amazon voucher each week to a lucky student who has completed the survey. If you complete the survey in week one then you’ll have five chances to win!

We know that there are often lots of surveys going around which can be overwhelming, but your time in halls is an important part of your University experience, so we’d really encourage you to fill in ours to let us know how we’re doing!

We’ve made lots of changes in the past in response to feedback from these surveys. For instance, we found that some people weren’t sure who their Residence Life Warden or Assistants were or what their roles involved. We also heard that people didn’t know what the Residence Life Social Committees did and didn’t always know about the variety and number of events they and the Residence Life team organised throughout the year.

To help solve this problem we created the Residence Life website that you’re reading now! The idea is to give you one place online to find out everything from who your warden is, what great events are coming up to top tips on how to make the most of student life and your time in Leeds. If there’s ever anything else you’d love to see on this site, please let us know (residencelife@leeds.ac.uk).

We also introduced the Halls Handbook which you were given when you checked in. This should hopefully give you all the info you need about living in our halls in one handy guide, including all the key contact numbers and email addresses.

Finally, we updated our online accommodation induction to make sure it was giving you the information you needed in an engaging and clear way. Hopefully this helped you to feel like you could move into accommodation knowing what to expect and what was on offer.

But it doesn’t have to be big stuff like new websites or common rooms! In the past, students at Devonshire let us know that breakfast was finishing too early, so we extended it by an hour!

So, make sure you complete our survey to let us know if there’s anything you think we need to do differently and how everything has been so far since arriving in your accommodation!
