I would say to spend the first few days, or even the first week, getting to know your accommodation and the local area. Headingley is such a lovely place, with plenty of shops, cafés, restaurants, and even a gym! Definitely take the time to explore and make sure you feel settled!I also believe that people naturally want to be friends with friendly people, so try to be as open and approachable as you can when meeting new people. It might take a little time, but before you know it, you'll start to feel right at home!
