Meet Devonshire Hall's Warden
Hi I'm Darron the Residence Life Warden for Devonshire Hall.
As Residence Life Warden, I’m responsible for ensuring that you have a great experience in Dev by providing support but also dealing with any discipline issues that may arise. So, if you have any questions or problems then do let me know and I will be happy to assist you. You can contact me via email at mindwd@leeds.ac.uk.

Background Information
I'm from Wallsend in the North East of England and read Mining Engineering at the University of Nottingham where I also gained my PhD. I also have a Masters in Law. I have lived in Leeds for 27 years.
I have a Private Pilot’s License.

I’m assisted by a team of four Residence Life Assistants and members of the Devonshire Hall Senior Common Room. Residence Life Assistants are also students and have lived in Halls so have a wealth of knowledge and experience that they will be happy to share with you.
There is a Residence Life Assistant on call every night and all weekend during term time, meaning that there is always someone you can call on for support or advice. The duty Residence Life Assistant contact number is 0781 629 6828; make sure you save this number in your phone.
Residence Life Social Committee/ Dev Junior Common Room Committee
‘Dev’ is the most active residence the University has and excels in music, drama and occasionally sport.
During your time at Dev, there will be lots of opportunities to get involved in its active social calendar. We have formal dinners, open mic nights, concerts, plays, a musical, a Winter Ball and a week-long DevFest in the summer term, all open to Dev students regardless of whether you are catered or self-catered.
Whilst in Halls you have the opportunity to join your Residence Life Social Committee!
The Residence Life Social Committee programme (RLSC) provides you with the opportunity to run events for residents in your Hall, and to make the most of your time in Halls.
You'll meet regularly as a Committee and work within a budget to plan exciting social events, fundraisers and campaigns. It’s a great way to meet people, get involved in the community and develop important professional skills including event management, teamwork and time management.
You will also get to be part of a wider personal development programme focused on expanding your leadership and team-building abilities.
