Starting university can be exciting, yet often overwhelming, and I’m here to help ensure you have the best time while you’re living in residence. As a warden, I’m here to listen and provide support if you’re going through a difficult time or would like advice on a problem you’re facing. I’m also responsible for maintaining discipline at the residences to make the halls a harmonious and happy place to live for all.
Ellerslie and Lyddon may not have as many students as some of the other residences, but they more than makeup for that with their friendly global community spirit and social atmosphere. Last year, the residents enjoyed taking part in events, including: go-karting, pizza parties, and international-themed nights, which were a lot of fun. Previous residents have loved that they’re positioned in a prime location - making it easy to roll out of bed and get to lectures on time, have a quick walk back from a night out at Fruity, or easily nip over to the Union for a late night snack.
As well as being a warden, I’m a full-time member of staff at the university and have been working here for over five years. In my spare time, you’ll often find me buried in a book, trying one of the many great restaurants in Leeds or exploring somewhere new, so if you want advice on great places to eat in Leeds or spots to visit across Yorkshire and the UK, then I’m always happy to give recommendations.
- Holly Fox, Warden for Ellerslie and Lyddon
