I like to crochet and am currently trying to achieve going to 30 countries before I’m 30 :)

Being an RLA means being a support system for students who are adjusting to a new environment. Being a friendly face and a person you can rely on during times of need.

Time will go by so quickly, enjoy it your time living in halls with your flatmates and try to enjoy your first year of university as before you know it, you’ll be graduating!

Outside of medicine, I enjoy running and photography.

To help create a welcoming and supportive community where students feel comfortable, settled, and know they have someone to turn to if they need advice or support.

Get involved, even if it feels a little outside your comfort zone. Everyone is looking to make friends in the first few weeks.

I've lived in Charles Morris Hall in my first year.

A fun fact about me is that I love making the most of everything university has to offer! I've taken on a range of roles, including Intercultural Ambassador, Student Ambassador, Welcome Team Assistant, Open Day Ambassador, IT Ambassador, Peer Mentor, and now Residence Life Assistant. I've also been involved in three societies: Cosy Games Society, Turkic Society, and MedTech Society, and have been on the committee for all three. I always encourage people to get involved because some of the best friendships, experiences, and opportunities come from saying yes to something new.Outside of university, I'm a former swimmer and still love getting back in the pool whenever I can. I also enjoy designing and 3D printing figures and small objects, combining my engineering background with a creative hobby. Whether it's trying a new activity, organising an event, or meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, I'm always excited to get involved!

I would describe my role as an RLA as being someone residents can feel comfortable approaching and someone who helps make halls a welcoming place for everyone. I want to be a friendly face that residents can come to for support, advice, or even just a chat if they need it.Throughout my time at university, I have really enjoyed getting involved in different roles and being part of society committees. These experiences have shown me how important it is to create a sense of community and help people feel included. As an RLA, I hope to encourage residents to get involved, meet new people, and make the most of their university experience. For me, the role is about helping people settle in, creating a positive atmosphere in halls, and making sure everyone feels like they belong.

My top tip for living in halls is to not let any negative experiences define your whole accommodation journey. Moving into halls is a big change, and it can take time to settle in, so remember that it's completely okay to ask for help if you need it. Whether it's speaking to your RLA, Residence Life Team, or someone else in your community, there is always someone who can support you.I would also encourage everyone to get involved in the activities and events organised by the social committee. They are a great way to meet new people, try something different, and create some of your favourite university memories. Even if you feel nervous at first, taking that first step and joining in can make a huge difference to your experience in halls.
