I’m John Kennedy and I am the Residence Life Warden for Lupton Residences. I am originally from a little town north of Dublin, Ireland and I have been in the UK for 9 years now. I originally came to Leeds to study music, fell in love with the city and never left! I joined the Reslife team as Warden in 2021 and have been working in Universities in a variety of roles since coming to the UK. In addition to my job as Warden, I am also the School Manager in the School of Music. 

As Warden, I lead the Reslife team on site. Along with our four Residence Life Assistants, our role is to provide welfare and pastoral support to all residents and to help you make the most of your time here. We are here to help if you are facing any challenges or issues. Residence Life Assistants are available throughout term time overnight and at the weekend, so please feel free to get in contact should you need any help or advice. Our team works very closely with the Lupton Site Team who you can meet at reception. The site team leads on things like building maintenance, fire safety, post and flat inspections and making sure that everything on site is running smoothly. Reception is open on weekdays from 08.00-10.00 and 15.00-18.00, so please do visit if you need any assistance.

Lupton is a fantastic residence in the heart of the lively suburb of Headingley. We are lucky to have nature all around us, with plenty of green spaces, trees and wildlife to enjoy. In the local area, we have plenty of things to do, with lots of shops, restaurants and bars right around the corner. We also have a monthly farmer’s market just down the street! Throughout the year, we work together with the Lupton Social Committee to host a variety of events on-site as well, such as barbecue and pizza nights, outdoor cinema experiences, bowling trips and more.
