Volunteer to help the environment and your local community
Volunteering is fantastic way to get involved in your community, meet like-minded individuals, and enjoy the great outdoors.
We'll be running Wild Work Days throughout the year in partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust where you'll have the chance to help maintain natural spaces throughout Leeds and beyond.
We're heading to Rothwell Country Park on 6 November
Meet at Parkinson Steps outside the Parkinson Building at 9 am, depart from campus by coach at 9:30 am. We will return to campus at 4:30 pm.
To sign up email Mike Leonard at m.leonard@adm.leeds.ac.uk
Lunch will be provided and transport may be available upon request. Please include in your email whether you require transport to the location, along with details of any dietary requirements and medical conditions that may affect your experience.
If you are attending a Wild Work Day, you are advised to bring or wear the following:
- A strong pair of boots or wellies (wellington boots).
- A warm hat
- Several layers of clothing, as we will be working in the open, with very little shelter.
- Waterproof clothing, just in case!
- A small rucksack for your personal items, and you may also want to bring a bin liner to keep them dry.
- A camera or phone for photographs.
- An extra water bottle, as you will get thirsty with the work.
