We are delighted to announce that the results are in!
With so many fantastic entries submitted it was no easy task for our amazing judge Mike Anderson, a lecturer in photography at the University of Leeds, to choose his favourites.
1st place
After some careful deliberation of all the submissions, we are delighted to announce that the winner is Hina Komiya, with a stunning shot that captured the spirit of the season! In this well-composed and well-exposed image pictured above, the photographer has captured a remarkable and fleeting example of the beauty of nature and has managed to bring out the colours of the rainbow.
Hina's work will be displayed in the Charles Morris reception area.
2nd place
Our first runner-up, Devansh Singhal, has depicted wonderful, saturated colours and well-balanced composition make this a wonderful expression of the beauty and majesty of nature. The clouds in the blue sky add interest and balance the trees to the right. The tiny figure is a reminder of how small we are compared to nature.
3rd place
In 3rd place, Eakansh carefully considered the composition of the picture, with the rock face dominating the left of the frame and creating a feeling of depth in the image. The viewer's gaze moves through the image following the path in the centre of the frame.
Mike also highly commended Mariam Hameed Sulaiman Lebbai's work pictured above, and awarded a joint 3rd place for a well-observed image of the beauty of nature in the urban environment.
Congratulations to all of our shortlisted entries, and thank you to everyone who entered! We loved looking at all of your entries and were blown away by the sheer talent of our halls students.
