Hyde Park is well known for being a vibrant and culturally diverse area situated between the nearby suburb of Headingley and the campus area, just minutes away from both. It’s home to many students of Leeds, from across all universities, making it the perfect place to socialise and make new friends.
The area has everything a student could wish for, perfect for whatever vibe you’re feeling. There are plenty of cute and cosy coffee shops for a hot drink and a catch-up with friends. The Otley Run trail flows through the area, meaning there’s a vast selection of pubs and bars for you to kick back and relax in after a long week. Wanna go to a gig? Hyde Park Book Club is a bar and music venue, hosting plenty of upcoming local talent while Brudenell Social Club is a vital venue for the Leeds music scene, with everything from small-capacity gigs to larger crowds.
At the centre of Hyde Park is the stunning Woodhouse Moor, a large green open space complete with a skate park, a multi-use games area and tennis courts, enjoyed by many Leeds students in the summer months. The area is also home to a great deal of culture, from the historic cinema Hyde Park Picture House to Left Bank in the heart of LS6, which helps to support and host up-and-coming artists and creatives in the city.
The area has great travel links, with Burley Park train station which links to Leeds station within walking distance, along with plenty of buses that all connect you straight to the city centre.
