Explore some of Leeds' most incredible art out and about

Did you know that Leeds has its own Street Art Trail?

If you’ve been walking around the city centre and surrounding areas, you’ll probably notice that art is everywhere on the streets of Leeds, and you can find it all in one handy place.

The Leeds Street Art Trail has an interactive map to help you find all of the works of art, and it even has lots of information about each piece and it’s artist, so you can find out more about the work while you’re looking at it!

Here are some of our highlights that you’ll see out and about.

Rob Burrow

By artist Aske19, this bold mural can be seen on the side of Leeds Beckett’s Students Union and pays tribute to the lasting legacy of Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow, who became a huge advocate for motor neurone disease after being diagnosed with the condition, and advocated for other suffering, raising awareness of the disease massively.

Sadly, Rob Burrow passed away on 2 June 2024. This mural stands as testament to the incredible impact he continues to have on the city of Leeds.

Athena Rising

Athena Rising is one of the tallest pieces of street art in the UK, coming in at 46.8 meters high and standing tall above the city. It was created by Nomad Clan using spray paint, and took 7 months of planning and 16 days to paint.

You’ll find this piece just by the train station on the side of Platform, the city’s ‘home for tech’.

You & Me, Me & You

At 88 feet high, you’ll spot this piece covering one of the buildings around The Calls and the River Aire.

Created by Leeds Beckett University Alumni Anthony Burrell and curated by In Good Company Studio, You & Me, Me & You brings a simple but impactful message of hope and unity to Leeds.

Cornucopia

Created in 1990 by Graeme Willson, this incredible mural stands beside the historic Corn Exchange and was designed to brighten up the area when the building was renovated.

It received the Leeds Award for Architecture and Environment, and is a well known Leeds landmark.

Insa X Monkier

Adding a splash of colour to Wharf Street, this piece was designed to highlight the importance of being climate conscious.

Artist Insa considered every element while creating this work. It was a carbon conscious and zero waste production, and used the world’s most certified green brand of paint.
