Visit a Nature Reserve & Site of Special Scientific Interest

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

On the day we will be working on scrub control and hedge-laying in Madbanks Nature Reserve

The Google Maps link for the meeting point with YWT Madbanks, lay-by on Claypit Lane, Ledsham, WF10 2BG but the nearest parking is space is in the nearby village, a few minutes’ walk away. 

There’s no toilet on site, the nearest one is at the nearby pub, a 6-minute walk from the reserve.

What to wear/bring:

• Strong pair of walking boots or wellington boots.
• Several layers of clothing.
• A warm hat.
• Waterproof clothing!
• A small rucksack or bag
• A water bottle or spare drink

Schedule:

• 9:00 am: Meet at Parkinson Steps on campus.
• 9:10 am: Depart for Madbanks Nature Reserve (NR)
• 9:40 am: Arrival at Madbanks NR where we’ll be met by YWT staff
• 3.20 pm: Head to the minibus.
• 3.30 pm: Depart for campus
• 4.00 pm: Arrive at Parkinson steps
