Treetop Adventure Plus - For older more advanced children (Minimum age6 years. Minimum height 1.2m). Prices start from £23

Treetop challenge – High rope course and a 250m zip wire (Minimum age10 years. Minimum height 1.4m. 1 participating adult required per 2 children, for supervision). Prices start from £30. There is a 10% student discount available for this activity.

Harewood House

Location: Harewood House, Harewood, Leeds LS17 9LG

The 5-mile circular walk around the perimeter of the estate is free and provides great views over Harewood House. Parking is available and operates on an honesty box system. Muddy Boots café, situated at the beginning of the walk, has a children’s menu. Highchairs and changing facilities are available.

There are no facilities on this circular walk beyond those provided at the café.

Harewood House has an adventure playground with slides, swings, areal walkways and climbing nets. It also has a play area suitable for toddlers. 

Entry fee - access to main house, private grounds, and play areas.

Single entry - £15 per adult, £9 for children over 3 years old.

Educational Activities

Middleton Railway

Travel aboard the world’s oldest continuously working railway, built in 1758 to transport coal from the Middleton Colliery to Leeds markets.

The timetable is very limited, so make sure you check the train is operating before heading over.

The railway is primarily open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between April and October.  They also usually open on Wednesdays during the school holidays.

Meanwood Valley Urban Farm

Location: Sugar Well Rd, Meanwood, Leeds LS7 2QG

A working farm that’s open to the public. The charity cultivates a community for and with adults with learning disabilities, provides a diverse green space, and facilitates knowledge sharing about nature, habitats, animals, farming and food among children and the general public.   

The public can visit the farm animals, gardens and woodland. There is also an onsite café with rabbits and guinea a pig housed opposite it.
